What is a solar water pump and its working principle

Release date:2020-04-24 Author: admin Click:

Solar water pumps are an economical and practical solution for providing water to inconvenient or budget-friendly places.

Solar water pumps are used in residential and commercial applications. They are a clean alternative to fossil fuel-powered windmills and generators.

There are two main types of solar water pumps. Surface pumps are located on the ground and move water through pipes. These can move large amounts of water slowly. Surface pumps are usually found in farms or large irrigation systems, where water needs to be moved from lakes to fields. The submersible solar water pump is located underground, but the solar panels are connected to the ground. Submersible pumps are used to move water from the well to the surface.

How does the solar water pump work? The main difference between solar pumps and conventional pumps is the power source. Solar water pumps rely on solar panels to operate equipment. The solar panel can be built into the device, or it can be a separate structure connected to the pump by wires. The solar panels then power the device, enabling it to work independently of any existing electrical systems.

Solar pumps range in size from small pumps to powered fountains, and large pumps used to pump water from underground aquifers. Built-in panels are usually used for smaller pumps, while large pumps require a separate installation.

Many applications of solar water pumping systems: livestock watering, pond and stream protection, campgrounds, irrigation, filled swimming pools, garden fountains and other water features, deep well pumping, water supply to remote villages, homes and farms, drinking water (purification water treatment) , Medical clinics, heating water and even under-floor heating and watering large-scale commercial operations.

Features of solar water pumps: extremely easy to install, energy saving (no fuel cost), cost-effective,

The concept is simple: if the sun is shining, the pump is running. If the sun is not bright, the pump shuts down. Produce water when you need it most-during the hot and dry months of the year, you can use DC motors, use solar panels, DC power or batteries for operation

Multi-purpose application: low maintenance (unattended operation), with or without battery backup storage capacity, can be used in almost any location-cities, countries, remote areas, suburbs, etc.

A key fact of solar water pumps is that they only provide electricity during the day. In many cases, this is sufficient for the intended use, but if the water needs to be pumped once the sun goes down, then a pump with battery storage should be considered. Large pumps may include battery arrays that can provide continuous power for 12 hours or more, but such battery arrays are inherently bulky and may require separate sheltered storage to prevent inclement weather.
